Procurement Manager

Description: Responsible for all work associated with the Procurement Department. Includes (but not limited to) procedures, schedules, escalation, surveillance, and coordination of all procurement actions. Position is also responsible for contracting activities and support for new product development activities.   The Procurement Manager will lead a team of Buyers to perform both strategic and tactical duties in accordance with business objectives.  Responsible for developing a highly effective organization, assisting in the standardization of process and procedures to improve material flow within our entire supply chain.  Responsible for the management of people, inventory, process and procedures to meet business objectives.   Liaises with key company employees to determine their product and service needs Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times Nurtures relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for company Identifies and researches potential new suppliers Researches new products and services to meet company's goals Assesses total costs of company purchases Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels Oversees a team of purchasing agents Uses JDE ERP system and other Lean concepts for effectively managing inventory. Highly involved in ongoing refinement of our manufacturing pull system, specifically in assurance of supply. Management of personnel including coaching employees in the performance of daily duties, establishes performance standards, and provides support to ensure job results meet expectations. Writes and conducts performance appraisals in accordance with Company policies and procedures to provide feedback on past performance and to establish new goals for the employee in concert with those of the Company. Qualifications: Qualifications:   Strong leadership, management and negotiation skills Three to five years managing a staff of 3 or more Five years Purchasing Management background in a Manufacturing environment.   BS degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field. Demonstrated background in inventory planning and control systems emphasizing lean manufacturing and pull/Kanban principles.  Strong Project Management Skills (PMI certification as plus) Thorough knowledge of MRP/ERP systems including the implementation of such  processes. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
