Costing Manager

  Job Summary:   The Costing Manager is responsible for cost quotes request, bill of materials and CMT evaluation and negotiation against standard cost data for Newell Brands Technical Apparel.  In addition to providing support, including analysis of benchmark projects of simple and multi-tier structures as well as research, the Costing Manager provides and supportsinternal and external data sources in the attempt to accurately portray historic and projected competitive cost positions. The Costing Manager evaluates cost trend projections compared to budgeted plan trends by product, area and provider to determine root causes of variances to plan and identify opportunities for improvement. The Costing Manager obtains competitive data points from many sources and produces actionable reporting based on the data. The Costing Manager works in a highly matrixed organization in a collaborative manner and exhibits behaviors, attitudes and actions that demonstrate a high level of teamwork.   Essential Functions: Presents to contracting and other customers' competitive insight analyses in support of cost improvement initiatives. Validates internal roll ups of cost and forecast information inclusive of projected trends (wholesale/retail) and ensures accurate representation of information to internal and external customers. Assesses current cost position compared to competition and creates reports to display competitive position. Conducts audits of costs breakdowns and prepares reports. Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Partners closely with matrix colleagues to tap additional sources of competitive data and plot market trends. Supports the RFP process as required. Develops appropriate pricing templates using MS Excel that conform to solicitation. Partners with Product Line Managers, Inventory Planning and Sales to help create an accurate portrayal of cost within Pricing assumptions (design, materials, country of origin) and build-up of category opportunities. Determines competitive projects for cost improvements of select markets and products. Analyzes, interprets and compiles competitive intelligence data to use in the triangulation of a provider or market competitive position. Manages and updates cost in seasonal workbooks. Updates standard costs for all brands products. Analyzes and verifies duty and freight cost for accuracy. Assists with forecast and margins analysis for product categories. Executes season to season close analysis and identifies opportunities for cost improvement. Prepares month-end costing status reporting. Compiles cost of product by vendor from season to season. Partners with the business and cost team members to strive for continuous process improvement. Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost proposals and analysis. Experience working with engineering and manufacturing partners on the development and analysis of cost standards. Practical knowledge of related functions including sourcing, marketing, design, wholesale sales, merchandising, inventory planning and distribution. The ability to work productively in an environment that requires constant development of technical data skill sets. Experience working with Contracting, Pricing, Cost Analysis, Competitive Intelligence. Excellent skills in analyzing contracts and RFQ for compliance, and has expertise in dealing with non-routine and complex projects. The ability to accurately prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Demonstrated ability to work at both the conceptual and very detailed levels and easily shifts between the two. The ability to analyze and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data. Strong writing skills and computer proficiency in all Microsoft programs. Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities, excellent written and oral communication skills, and comfortable presenting to small and large audiences. Superb interpersonal and customer service skills, with demonstrated ability to influence internal and external resources. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects. Proven ability to work in a fast paced and evolving environment. Flexible nature with the ability to react quickly and sometimes creatively to business needs. Team player - puts aside personal goals and works well with others, doing what needs to be done to strive for a common goal. Highly driven, self-motivated and capable of working without significant supervision. The ability to manage and lead change. The ability to travel up to 5% of the year, including international travel to visit factories and mills Preferred Qualifications: Advanced MS Excel skills. Experience with SAP and BI (Business Intelligence software). Knowledge of data base software. A passion for the Outdoor Industry and Travel/adventure

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
