Tips REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
The Utility reports to and takes direction from the General Manager, the Assistant Manager, and the Floor Supervisor.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Utility staff is responsible for the various job functions of a Host, Busser, Food Runner, and working at the To-Go counter.
As Host they are the first and last point of contact with our guests and responsible for greeting, seating, and thanking guests in a professional and poised manner as they leave the restaurant.
As Busser they are responsible for clearing, cleaning, and resetting the tables in a professional and efficient manner.
They provide guests with beverage service and support all service staff with bussing tables during service, beverage refills, and proper service sequence, as well as maintain cleanliness in common areas of the restaurant.
As Food Runner they are responsible for completion of service sequence by delivering food, utensils, and condiments with proper etiquette, timing, and professionalism to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
Hosts, Bussers, and Food Runners are knowledgeable, approachable, and thoughtful in a busy, fast paced environment.
To-Go Counter:
All positions rotate working the To-Go Counter, which takes food and beverage orders and utilizes the POS system to ring up all sales, accurate charges for each guest bill, and proper processing of all comps.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Thoroughly understand all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
Successfully work with both front and back of house staff with ease and expediency.
Work as a cohesive, unified service team with the rest of the FOH staff.
Respond quickly and appropriately to guest requests, communicating requests to server as needed.
Engage management for any guest issue or complaint.
Assist servers with all aspects of service as required while maintaining work area in a professional manner.
Maintain the cleanliness of all service areas, tools, and service-ware.
Thoroughly complete all opening and closing assignments.
Ensure proper set-up of dining room, paying close attention to proper placement of plates, glassware, utensils, napkins, tables, and chairs.
Set up and stock assigned work area(s).
Stay current and updated on all menu items, including major components of dishes, unfamiliar ingredients, and appropriate utensils for service.
HOST DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Greet all guests promptly in a courteous and professional manner.
Answer and manage phones, including confirming and planning reservations to ensure maximum seating and comfortability, regularly checking voicemail and writing and relaying messages in a timely manner.
Maintain thorough and expert knowledge of food and beverage menus.
Learn and retain the names and special requests of all VIP and regular guests.
Communicate with FOH Manager(s) to ensure the maximum seating of the dining room for all meal periods and recognize the workload capacity of each server.
Manage timing and seating of the dining room by utilizing tables to their capacity and to ensure a smooth sequence of service thereby maximizing revenue.
Coordinate all special requests such as birthdays, anniversaries, or incoming VIP reservations with FOH Managers at least one (1) hour before each meal period.
Maintain an organized, clean, and professional host desk, including windows and surrounding areas.
Wipe down and clean menus daily.
Always wear professional attire as directed, maintaining the highest standards of appearance and grooming at all times.
Required to attend all mandatory meetings when scheduled.
Other duties and special projects as requested or required.
BUSSER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Clear, clean, and reset tables quickly and efficiently within established standard timings and guidelines.
Read guests and pre-bus tables, removing plates as courses are completed utilizing proper sequence of service, replenishing utensils, and refilling beverages and water as needed.
Assist servers by serving tea, water, and other food and beverages as needed.
Clean service stations, fill ice bins, and restock storage and fridge items according to established par levels.
Polish and clean all equipment inside workstations.
Assist with proper sorting and removal of all trash and recycling.
Assist with set up and breakdown of dining room facilities.
Retrieve China, silver, glassware, and other items to be stocked from dish area.
Adhere to established sanitation and safety protocols.
Required to attend all mandatory meetings when scheduled.
Other duties and special projects as requested or required.
FOOD RUNNER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Quickly and correctly transport food from the kitchen to the guest(s).
Manage the flow of orders as they are completed while also processing, assembling, and delivering take-out orders.
Clearly communicate 86 items, menu changes, and/or other food related information to service staff.
Understand and execute food safety and allergy protocols.
Communicate clearly and respectfully with chefs and cooks as necessary, including dining room information and updates.
Required to attend all mandatory meetings when scheduled.
Other duties and special projects as requested or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
At least 6 months to one year of experience in a restaurant or other high-volume retail or customer service establishment.
Knowledge and experience using Open Table or other on-line reservation systems.
Knowledge and ability to operate POS system.
Knowledge of MS Word and Excel a plus.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly with guests, managers, kitchen, and co-workers.
Ability to use and apply common sense and good judgement while working calmly and efficiently under pressure or busy conditions.
Possess the ability to think on your feet and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Possess strong follow-through and follow-up skills.
Ability to work with and be a part of a team.
Must be dependable, reliable, responsible, and timely.
Must be able to take and understand directions and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Possess a strong work ethic.
Ability to pay attention to detail, stay organized and work well under pressure.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, up to eight (8) hours.
Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and lift (up to) 50 lbs.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Proof of eligibility to work in the US.
Possess current ServSafe and RBS Certification Must be over 18 years old.
Must pass casino background check.
